Santo Domingo.– The Dominican Republic ranks 64th out of 147 countries evaluated in the World Happiness Report 2026, with an average score of 6.093 out of 10, according to the results of the Gallup World Poll corresponding to the 2023-2025 period.
The international study measures different factors related to people’s well-being, including the perception of life satisfaction, economic conditions, social support, health, freedom to make decisions, and trust in institutions.
In addition to the general measurement of happiness, the report included an analysis of the behavior of Dominicans regarding the use of social media and its possible link to the perception of personal well-being.
For this part of the research, 1,891 Dominican citizens over 15 years of age were consulted, using data collected by the Latinobarómetro surveys conducted between 2023 and 2024.
The results seek to determine whether frequent interaction with digital platforms has any impact on the way people value their quality of life, their social relationships, and their level of satisfaction.
