Iran warns that if the U.S. does not fulfill its commitments in Lebanon, the agreement is at risk

Tehran.- The chief Iranian negotiator in the peace talks, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, stated this Sunday that it is “impossible to talk about moving forward” with the United States if it does not fulfill its commitments in Lebanon, a country that Israel attacked again today.

“If you lack the will or the capacity to fulfill your commitments, it is impossible to talk about moving forward,” Qalibaf said on X in an apparent reference to the peace agreement with the United States.

The also president of the Iranian Parliament stated that the new Israeli attacks on Beirut’s Dahye neighborhood “have once again demonstrated that the United States either lacks the will to fulfill its commitments or the capacity to do so.”

And he assured that Washington “cannot obtain concessions by giving the green light” to Israel.

“The ‘good cop, bad cop’ tactic has become obsolete,” he said.

Iran and the United States are very close to signing a memorandum of understanding to end the war.

United States President Donald Trump announced yesterday that the agreement would be signed today, but Iran insists that it will be in “the coming days”.

Amid the imminence of the agreement to end the war that the United States and Israel began on February 28, the Jewish State launched new attacks today against Beirut’s Dahye neighborhood, a Hezbollah stronghold, in bombings that have caused at least two deaths.

In previous weeks, when Tehran and Washington brought their positions closer, Israel launched another offensive against Beirut, to which the Islamic Republic responded by attacking the Jewish country.

The United States, Pakistan, and Iran have confirmed that in any case, the signing of the agreement would be virtual, electronically.
