More than 40 trade associations deny shortage of chicken and eggs and support the Ministry of Agriculture
Santo Domingo.- More than 40 retail trade organizations expressed their support for the Minister of Agriculture, Francisco Oliverio Espaillat, and stated that there is no shortage or unjustified increases in the prices of chicken and eggs, while assuring that the market has begun to stabilize after the measures adopted by the current administration.
During a visit to the Ministry of Agriculture, the main leaders of the retail sector denied versions that have circulated in different spaces about an alleged lack of white meat and eggs, since as a result of the measures adopted, the market has returned to normal. In that context, Apolinar Leyba Jr. warned that some sectors are trying to “fish in troubled waters”, promoting a false perception of a shortage of chicken meat with the aim of generating distortions in the market and affecting price stability.
From his side, Ricardo Rosario, President of the National Central of Unified Retailers, highlighted Minister Oliverio Espaillat’s openness to find solutions to the sector’s problems.
