La Romana. – A motorcycle taxi driver died after being attacked by several individuals with a bladed weapon in an incident that occurred on Padre Marcelo Simard street, in front of the Roger Gautuer School “Escuelita Verde”, in the Villa Verde sector.
The victim was identified as Adrián Carpio, 29 years old, a resident of Altos de Villa San Carlos, who was taken to the El Buen Samaritano General Hospital, where he was declared dead.
Initially, the version of a possible robbery was handled; however, the authorities are investigating other circumstances related to the event.

For the case, agents of the Dicrim arrested René Ismael Mercedes Paulino, 26 years old, identified as the alleged responsible. The detainee will be placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal purposes.
