Provincial Health Directorate and City Hall conduct inspection at the Municipal Market of La Romana

La Romana.-As a faithful vigilante and guarantor of health in the city, the Provincial Health Directorate (DPS) of La Romana, led by Dr. Carmen Jiménez, together with the Municipal Council of La Romana, headed by its mayor, Lic. Eduardo Kery Metivier, made a joint visit to the Municipal Market of this city. The commission was headed by the general secretary, Inocencio Santana; the eng. Yulifer Miguel Villafaña, in charge of Municipal Works; and Olivo Guerrero, administrator of the Municipal Market. During the tour, the commission conducted a survey on the level of unsanitary conditions with which some products are dispatched, as well as the conditions of the premises where they are sold. Immediately, the authorities committed to seeking solutions to this worrying problem.

Dr. Jiménez was accompanied by the provincial head of Environmental Health, Dr. Elizabeth De Aza, who, along with the city council, announced that they will establish a regime of consequences for merchants who violate Public Health protocols.
