Monte Plata. — This Friday morning, residents of the Mata Santiago community, in the municipality of Bayaguana, held a peaceful march to demand the construction of the road that connects this area with Los Hidalgos, a project that, according to complaints, has been promised on several occasions, but has not been executed to date.
During the demonstration, the community members expressed their concern about the deteriorated state of the road, assuring that the current conditions make transit difficult and directly affect the development of the community. The deputy Oscar Morel joined this day of protest, stating that it is contradictory that a large part of the materials used for the construction of roads and highways in the province of Monte Plata come precisely from the community of Mata Santiago, while this town continues without having an access road in adequate conditions.
