Rosario Murillo labels critics of the Fidel Castro sculpture in Nicaragua as “traitors”

San José.- Nicaragua’s co-president, Rosario Murillo, lashed out this Tuesday against those who criticize the sculpture that her government will install in honor of the late Cuban president Fidel Castro, on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of the leader of the Cuban Revolution (1926-2016).
“Among those who crawl, the traitors and cowards, the servile and serfs, the packs, for them, as we know, who always show signs of deep darkness, of evils and malignities, there is no possible pride,” Murillo reproached through official media.
“They only know the ground, which does not mean ‘the ground where I was born,’ because they do not know that. They only bite, as our general (Augusto C.) Sandino used to say, the dust of their own cowardice, of their own malignities, which are growing,” he added.
The monument consists of a huge full-body image of the former Cuban president in metal, surrounded by silhouettes of metal and colored trees, 13 meters high.
The metal sculpture will be located on the ‘From Bolívar to Chávez’ promenade, on the former Bolívar Avenue, which runs from north to south through the area known as ‘old Managua’.
It will be installed inside an amusement park next to the headquarters of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, and in front of the National Assembly (Parliament), as verified by EFE.
