Santo Domingo.- With the support of Centro Cuesta Nacional (CCN) and within the framework of its Orgullo de Mi Tierra project, Monte Sereno Films made the documentary “El Pico Duarte”, which will be available in selected Caribbean Cinemas theaters in Santo Domingo and Santiago.
Under the co-direction of Mariana Rubio Pittaluga and Arturo Dickson, the documentary follows the story of several characters on their journey to Pico Duarte, showing their ability to transform everyone who visits it.
After successfully presenting at the IV Fine Arts “Hecho en RD” Festival of Caribbean Cinemas, the documentary now arrives at different theaters of the cinema chain in the country, starting at Downtown Center and Fine Arts Novocentro in Santo Domingo, and at the renovated cinema of Plaza Internacional in Santiago.
Amalia Vega, Vice President of Corporate Communications and Institutional Relations of CCN, explained that the company supported the documentary because of the way in which it reinforces a unique place in the Dominican Republic.
The feature film shows the relationship that Pico Duarte has with the formation of the collective environmental consciousness of the Dominican people, and how the areas surrounding the mountain play a fundamental role in the conservation of biodiversity and important water basins in the country.
