The measure is part of the institutional expansion plan approved by the Board of Directors of IDOPPRIL, chaired by the Minister of Labor, Eddy Olivares.
During the event, the executive director of the insurance body, doctor Agustín Burgos, highlighted the importance of strengthening the institutional presence in the eastern region of the country.
“Our goal is to be ever closer to the workers, offering them an agile, respectful, and quality service that effectively responds to their rights and needs in terms of prevention and protection of occupational hazards,” said Burgos.
The official reported that, so far this year, the La Romana office has processed more than RD$27 million 695 thousand 062.00 in subsidies and RD$38 million 815 thousand 831.12 in authorized medical expenses. “This reflects the direct impact of the institution on the quality of life of the affiliates and their families,” he emphasized.
Currently, in La Romana there are 47,680 jobs and 46,439 registered employees. This positions the province as the second with the highest percentage of reported cases in the east zone, according to institutional data.

The provincial office of La Romana is in a privileged location, on Santa Rosa Avenue number 72, Plaza Zorry, in the heart of the city. This space, completely renovated and equipped, has been designed to offer a comfortable, modern and efficient environment, which facilitates users’ access to institutional services.
In this facility, key services will be offered such as: registration of work accidents and occupational diseases, delivery of subsidies for medical incapacity, management of medical authorizations, personalized guidance and other procedures related to the Labor Risk Insurance.
This opening is part of IDOPPRIL’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its national service network, bring services closer to its affiliates and guarantee an effective, dignified and timely response to any eventuality related to occupational risks.
