Chile’s Miss World 2026 representative, Ignacia Fernández, surprised the international audience by performing death metal during the pageant’s talent competition in Nha Trang, Vietnam.
The model and vocalist of Chilean band Decessus performed “The Hollow Descent,” an original progressive death metal song, using her signature guttural vocals.
Her performance quickly gained attention online for challenging the traditional image associated with beauty pageants. Fernández later said the opportunity to bring metal to the Miss World stage and share part of her identity through music was an unforgettable experience.
