Abinader and Mejía lead civic-military parade in Azua for the 182nd anniversary of the Battle of March 19th

Azua, R.D. President Luis Abinader, along with former president Hipólito Mejía, led this Wednesday the civic-military parade on the occasion of the 182nd anniversary of the Battle of March 19, celebrated in the province of Azua.

The patriotic act brought together civil and military authorities, as well as hundreds of students from different educational centers, who paraded in honor of the heroes who defended national sovereignty in 1844, in what was the first major battle after National Independence. From the main platform, the president and the former head of state observed the organized march of the student delegations and the military corps, highlighting the civic-mindedness, discipline, and patriotic fervor of the participants.
