Santo Domingo, R.D. – President Luis Abinader appointed, through Decree No. 573-25, the young lawyer Omara Josiel Corporán Castillo as Consul General of the Dominican Republic in Chicago, Illinois, becoming the youngest diplomat in the Dominican foreign service, with only 27 years of age.

From his new role, Corporán will be responsible for strengthening consular services, promoting commercial, cultural, and cooperation ties between the Dominican Republic and the United States, and consolidating the bond with the Dominican diaspora residing in the North American Midwest.
