The United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) reported the arrest of six people linked to an alleged criminal network dedicated to the distribution of narcotics and trafficking of firearms in the states of Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey, which, according to the authorities, was coordinated by a Dominican citizen residing in the Dominican Republic.
Among those arrested are Dominicans Manolin Vargas D’Olon, also known as “Robelin”, 30 years old; Álvaro Pérez, 40; and Anderson Amador Nova, 35, all residents of Waterbury, Connecticut. Also arrested were Giovanni Benoit, 41, in New York; Ángel Vásquez, alias “Bebo”, 36, a resident of Hamden; and Andy Martínez, 46, in Paterson, New Jersey.

According to the DEA, the alleged ringleader coordinated through multiple distributors and even stated to sources that he had the ability to
order acts of violence against people in the United States. After appearing before a federal judge, Vargas D’Olon, Pérez, and Amador Nova were sent to pretrial detention, while Benoit and Martínez were granted bail with
house arrest.
During the investigation, agents conducted
more than 30 controlled purchases, managing to seize more than
one kilogram of fentanyl, more than
200 grams of methamphetamine, and
17 firearms. Laboratory analyses revealed that some of the fentanyl was mixed with
bromazolam, a synthetic benzodiazepine associated with an increase in overdose cases.
The authorities accuse Vargas D’Olon, Benoit, Pérez, Amador Nova, and Vásquez of conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine. If found guilty, Vargas D’Olon faces a mandatory minimum sentence of
10 years in prison and up to life imprisonment, while Benoit, Pérez, and Amador Nova could receive sentences of up to
40 years, and Vásquez up to
20 years.
The indictment also includes multiple charges related to the
illegal arms trafficking, some of which carry maximum sentences of up to
15 years in prison. In addition, it was reported that Vargas D’Olon was arrested in May 2025 on state narcotics charges and that, following the analysis of a seized cell phone, a New Haven grand jury issued a separate indictment for
possession of child pornography, a crime that carries a maximum sentence of
20 years in prison.
