Five dead in clash between civilians and police in La Barranquita, Santiago

Santiago. – Five people lost their lives this Tuesday after a confrontation between National Police agents and a group of civilians in a shopping plaza in the La Barranquita sector, in this province. The fact was confirmed by the regional director of Cibao Central of the institution, General Juan Bautista Jiménez, who assured that the circumstances in which the incident occurred are being investigated. Additional police units and brigades from the National Emergency and Security Attention System 9-1-1 arrived at the area, providing assistance amid the tension generated by the exchange of gunfire.
