“I just wanted to talk”: woman tells how she ended up injured after going to a cabin

San Francisco de Macorís. — Fiordaliza Lantigua, 32 years old, remains admitted to a health center after being injured by gunshot wounds in an event that occurred in the Mamá Tingó sector, in the Vista al Valle area. From the room where she is receiving medical attention, the woman recounted that she arrived at the place after receiving a call from a man identified as Aneudy, who told her that he wanted to talk to her. Convinced that it was a meeting without problems, she agreed to go to a cabin in the area.

However, upon arriving at the site —according to her testimony— she encountered her ex-partner, Fausto Gil, known as “Fao,” from whom she said she had been separated for several days. Lantigua explained that, after that encounter, a violent situation occurred in which she was injured by projectiles. The authorities are keeping investigations open to clarify the circumstances of the event and determine responsibilities.
