Santo Domingo.– The Fourth Collegiate Tribunal of the National District ratified the preventive detention measure against Emmanuel Rivera Ledesma, identified as the main ringleader of the real estate fraud network dismantled through Operation Nido.
The court, presided over by Judge Keyla Pérez, accepted the request of the Public Ministry after determining that the defense did not present new elements that would justify a variation of the coercive measure. The full reading of the decision was set for September 18th. Operation Nest, launched on January 3, 2024, revealed a fraudulent network that, through companies such as Indisarq S.R.L., Grupo Wimar S.R.L. and Auto Xperts AFM S.R.L., offered supposed housing projects with which they defrauded dozens of people. Authorities indicate that the accused and other members of the network led a life of luxury with the money obtained and that they still represent a threat to the victims, which is why they will remain in pre-trial detention while the judicial process advances.Related News
