Abinader pointed out that his focus remains on improving the conditions of citizens and highlighted that “the worst enemy they have is Google,” considering that a simple search allows to show the differences between both periods of Government. The Head of State reiterated that his commitment is to continue raising the quality of life of Dominicans, expressing that what he is “trying to do is to improve every day” through policies that strengthen purchasing power and economic stability. Although he rejected the opposition’s arguments, the president affirmed that any peaceful demonstration is positive for the democratic system. “I believe that any peaceful march by a party is beneficial for democracy,” he expressed, making it clear that he respects the right to protest. During La Semanal, Abinader added a touch of humor to his response by suggesting that the protesters attend with outfits alluding to the era. “Have them dressed in Christmas attire so they give that vibe,” she said.
