SANTO DOMINGO. The Ministry of the Presidency (MINPRE) and the National Council for Children and Adolescents (CONANI) held an emotional meeting with the children of one of the shelters managed by the governing body of the Child, Adolescent and Adolescent Protection System, located in the National District.
The activity was led by the Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza, and the Executive President of CONANI, Ligia Pérez Peña. As part of the day, a gift presentation and a shared breakfast were also held. The activity concluded with the screening of the film written and produced by the singer Juan Luis Guerra and directed by his son, the filmmaker Jean Guerra, Capitán
Wasp, in a recreational space designed for the enjoyment and healthy coexistence of children, with the support of the National Directorate of Cinema (DGCINE) and the Cinematheque. Also present were the executive director of CONANI, Alexandra Santelises; the head of DGCINE, Marianna Vargas Gurilieva; the vice minister of Institutional Relations of MINPRE, María del Pilar Cañas; and the director of the American School, Wara González, part of the volunteer group that supports this home. From CONANI, together with the Ministry of the Presidency, we reaffirm the commitment to continue promoting actions that promote safe, protective environments full of opportunities, always placing the rights, dignity, and integral development of Dominican children at the center.
