Santo Domingo.- The Public Ministry arrested this Friday, by court order, two men who, along with three minors, sexually abused a teenager while they were sharing in the community of Pueblo Nuevo, in the municipality of San Francisco de Macorís, in the province of Duarte.
Randy Batista and Brahian Sterlin Liriano, who are between 18 and 19 years old, were arrested in the aforementioned community for their connection to the criminal act perpetrated against the 13-year-old girl, whose name is omitted to protect her identity.
Regarding the case, investigations indicate that it occurred at a time when the victim and the accused were together on August 13th at a friend’s house. In addition, other girls and adolescents between 11 and 15 years old were present at the location.

As determined later, the accused subsequently supplied narcotic substances to the young women.
According to the record, the assaulted teenager lost consciousness, and it was in those circumstances that the accused took advantage to commit the sexual abuse in the early hours of the morning of the aforementioned day.
Evidence establishes that when the victim was losing consciousness, Brahian Sterlin Liriano took the opportunity to touch her all over her body and that when she woke up she was in the house of him and his four friends, now accused. As a result of the events, the victim had to be treated in a hospital in the area.
The chief prosecutor of the Duarte Judicial District, Smaily Rodríguez, announced that they are moving forward with the investigative proceedings to proceed with the submission to justice of those involved.
The incident was reported on August 13th, around 11:20 a.m., to the Comprehensive Care Unit for Victims of Gender-Based Violence, Intrafamily Violence and Sexual Offenses of the Judicial District of Duarte, coordinated by prosecutor Sandra Sierra Difó.
The seriousness of the reported facts and the lack of ties of the accused to appear at the acts of the procedure lead the Public Ministry to request the Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of San Francisco de Macorís to impose preventive detention on both accused as a coercive measure.
An arrest warrant was requested against those involved in the case after sufficient evidence was obtained during the investigations linking them to the act, which constitutes a violation of article 396-C of the Code for the Protection and Fundamental Rights of Children and Adolescents (Law 136-03), which punishes sexual abuse.
