Public Works will close the floating bridge for two hours this Saturday

Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) announced today that this Saturday, January 31, the floating bridge over the Ozama River will remain closed to traffic for two hours, in order to allow the safe passage of a vessel. The closure will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. During this period, the vessel M/T Atlantis 2 will sail upstream to the facilities of the shipyard Joseph Industrial Development Corp., the agency said in a note.

This information, added Public Works, is offered so that the general population, and especially drivers who habitually use the floating bridge, can take the necessary precautions and, if possible, use alternate routes during the closure time. Among the recommended routes are the Matías Ramón Mella, Juan Pablo Duarte, and Juan Bosch bridges. The MOPC said it appreciated the “understanding” of the citizenry in the face of this preventive measure.
