Two men arrested with homemade weapons during operations in Azua

Azua.– Two men were arrested in separate incidents by agents of the National Police, after being caught in the act carrying homemade weapons during operations carried out on the night of May 4 in different sectors of this province. In the first case, Juan José Paredes, 39, was arrested after showing a suspicious attitude upon noticing the police presence during a preventive patrol. According to the preliminary report, the individual attempted to flee the scene and, in the midst of the pursuit, broke the window of a dwelling with the apparent intention of entering, subsequently falling to the pavement, where he was intercepted by the agents. At the time of his arrest, the authorities seized a homemade “Chilean” type weapon. In a separate incident, Brailz Ronaldo Ramírez, 25, was arrested, who was caught during a surveillance tour carrying a homemade weapon of the same type on his waist, along with a 12-gauge cartridge.

According to the authorities, the detainee did not possess documentation justifying the possession of the weapon. Both men will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal purposes. The National Police reported that these operations are part of the preventive actions that are continuously carried out to guarantee citizen security in the province of Azua.
