Ben Affleck addressed recent rumors linking him to Colombian singer Shakira and said his focus is currently on his career and his children.
Affleck was asked about comments from Ana Navarro, co-host of The View, who said she had tried to introduce him to Shakira following his breakup with Jennifer Lopez. Navarro later acknowledged that the Colombian singer had never actually met Affleck.
The actor said he had never heard about the alleged introduction. “Honestly, I hear about these things first from people like you,” Affleck told a reporter, adding that he had never heard anything like it before.
Affleck also said he frequently hears rumors about his personal life and suggested that some stories are simply made up.
The actor emphasized that his children and his work are his priorities. “I work a lot and I see my kids,” he said in a video shared on Instagram, adding that there is not much room in his life to be constantly going out.
Affleck also said he is happy with where he is in life and remains open to whatever opportunities or experiences may come his way, but is not actively pursuing anything in particular.
The actor is currently promoting Animals, a thriller he directed and co-wrote with Connor O. McIntyre and Billy Ray. The film stars Kerry Washington, Steven Yeun and Gillian Anderson and is scheduled to debut in select theaters and on Netflix on October 9.
