Christian Nodal values the Latin Grammy nomination with an album to which he put “a lot of love”

Bogotá.- Mexican singer Christian Nodal celebrated this Friday in Bogotá the nomination he received for the Latin Grammy in the category of Best Ranchera/Mariachi Music Album with his production ¿Quién + Como Yo?, a project to which he assured he had put “a lot of love”.

“I have two albums that have been complicated for me to qualify. Finally, it’s done, ¿Quién + Como Yo?, which is an album that took a lot of time, a lot of love, and hours,”, the artist expressed in a press conference in the Colombian capital.

Nodal competes in the category with Alma De Reyna 30 Aniversario, by Mariachi Reyna De Los Ángeles, and Mi suerte es ser mexicano, by Pepe Aguilar. The performer assured that, whoever wins, he feels happy to be nominated. The production includes collaborations with artists such as Alfredo Oliva and Netón Vega, on the tracks “Se vienen días tristes” and “EBVSY,” respectively. Unlike his previous albums, this work is aimed at the traditional audience, after having experimented with fusions of mariachi, salsa, and bachata.

Nodal accumulates milestones in his career: he was the first Mexican artist to surpass 20 million global listeners on Spotify, while his video Adiós amor made him the first solo artist of regional Mexican music to enter YouTube’s Billion Views Club. In addition, with 13 songs at number one, he holds the historical record in Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay and was recognized by Apple Music as the number one regional Mexican artist of all time. This Saturday, the singer will perform at the Med Plus Coliseum in Bogotá with a 360 format show, the first of its kind he has done in Colombia.
