Miami.- Enrique Bunbury, Andrés Castro and Jorge Luis Piloto will be inducted into the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame (LSHOF) during a ceremony where the La Musa awards will be presented, which will take place on October 16, the organization reported this Wednesday.
He underlined that the Spanish composer Enrique Bunbury “has redefined the course of Latin rock with his innovative proposals”, while the Colombian producer and composer Andrés Castro has been the “creator of countless hits that have marked generations”.
Meanwhile, Cuban Jorge Luis Piloto has over 500 songs recorded by major stars.
Other new members of the LSHOF will be the late Argentine pianist, composer, and conductor Lalo Schifrin and the Mexican composer Mónica Vélez.
Schifrin is recognized for composing the music for the series ‘Mission: Impossible’, while Vélez’s songs “have sold millions of copies and exceed 4.6 billion streams” on digital platforms.
“This year’s honorees and nominees have not only defined Latin music, but have also paved the way for future generations of songwriters,” highlighted LSHOF President and CEO, Rudy Pérez.

The LSHOF will also award the special La Musa Elena Casals 2025 awards to the Mexican singer Ángela Aguilar, and La Musa Premio Triunfador 2025 to the Puerto Rican composer Lenny Tavárez.
Likewise, American composer Charles Fox will receive the Desi Arnaz Pioneer Award, Dominicans Juan Hidalgo and Nelson Estévez, from the record label and publishing house J&N Publishing, will be awarded the Ralph S. Peer Publishers Award 2025, and American music executive Mike O’Neill will receive The Musa Founders Award 2025.
‘The King’ of All Time
The song ‘El rey’, written by the Mexican José Alfredo Jiménez, will be exalted as ‘The song of all time’, after decades of influence and dozens of versions in the voices of performers such as the Mexicans Vicente Fernández, Alejandro Fernández or Luis Miguel.
The LSHOF awards annually recognize the careers of Latin composers who have contributed to the development and dissemination of Latin music and culture globally.
The gala, created by Cuban-American producer Rudy Pérez and American producer Desmond Child, will be held on October 16 at the Flamingo Theater in Miami (Florida).
Child, president emeritus of the organization, emphasized that the awards “celebrate the heart and soul of our culture” and highlighted that “the history of music is full of examples of Latin rhythms, sounds and melodies that are an integral part of our world repertoire”.
For the president of the institution, Marti Cuevas, celebrating Latin composers “is a step not only to recognize their incredible creativity, but also to inspire and ensure the future of our writers of tomorrow”.
