Although she lives in the U.S., Crusita oversees her henhouse in Sierra Prieta from afar, maintaining the love for animals that marked her since childhood

Sierra Prieta, RD.- Although currently residing in Florida, United States, the content creator, Darileidy Concepción, better known as Crusita, has not lost the connection with her roots nor with her lifelong love: animals. During a visit to his grandparents’ house, located in the Sierra Prieta area of the municipality of Fantino Crusita, Epifanio Concepción Contreras, his uncle, confessed to De Último Minuto that he maintains a chicken coop that he personally supervises from abroad. Mr. Epifanio Concepción Contreras opened the doors of the place for us and shared how his niece, despite the distance, keeps abreast of everything that happens with her hens, roosters, and chicks.

“From over there in Florida, she keeps track. She knows when a hen is laying, when a chick is born… she controls all of that,” he proudly stated.

The chicken coop, which was once full of birds, faced a harsh loss due to a disease that wiped out almost all the animals. However, under the accompaniment and advice of Crusita, the family has begun to recover it.

“We already have other roosters, she was the one who gave the recommendations. She does everything with the same affection as always, even though she is far away,” commented her uncle. This love for animals is not new. According to Don Epifanio, Crusita showed a special sensitivity towards them from childhood. “She took care of the chicks, the goats, she wasn’t afraid of them. From a young age, she had that human warmth and tenderness towards animals. On the farm, she was the one who took care of all that, we would say: ‘Dary, that goat is going to hurt you’, but she would carry it anyway,” he recalls with laughter. Beyond the content she creates for social media, the young winner of the reality show La Casa de Alofoke retains that natural, rural, and loving essence that was born in Sierra Prieta and that remains alive, even from another country.
