Chesapeake, Virginia, USA – A woman was killed and two officers were
injured in a domestic incident that occurred last Wednesday night in the city of Chesapeake, Virginia, according to local authorities.
State police identified the alleged assailant as Shaun M., 39 years old, whom they consider highly dangerous. Authorities have asked citizens not to try to approach him if they see him, and instead to immediately contact 911.
According to the police report, at 10:28 p.m., units responded to an emergency call at the 500 block of Willow Bridge Court, where a domestic assault was reported. Upon arrival, officers heard a woman’s screams for help from inside an apartment.
When they tried to access, the suspect opened fire through the closed door, hitting two officers. Subsequently, the agents managed to enter the apartment and found an adult woman with multiple gunshot wounds. She was taken to a hospital, where she unfortunately passed away.
The current condition of the injured officers has not been detailed, while authorities continue the search for the suspect. The police urge the community to collaborate with any information that may contribute to their location.
