Police in Edmonton, Canada, are asking the public for help locating two children of Dominican origin, ages nine and six, who were last seen on August 28 with their father, who is also missing.
According to a September 8 notice from the Edmonton Police Service, Scot MacDermid, 42, was last seen with his children, Lesley and George, at Manning Town Centre in northeast Edmonton, near 155 Avenue and 37 Street. Neither the father nor the children has been seen or heard from since.
The children’s mother is Dominican and was identified as Edilenia López Aquino. She and MacDermid are divorced and share custody of the children. The family lived in Puerto Plata for several years, where MacDermid maintains business interests, and according to information provided by journalist Edith Febles after speaking with the mother, authorities believe the three could be in the Dominican Republic.
Police described MacDermid as 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing about 160 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. Lesley, 9, is 4 feet 4 inches tall, weighs about 45 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. George, 6, is 4 feet 2 inches tall, weighs about 45 pounds and also has brown hair and brown eyes.
“Scot MacDermid has not been located, and neither he nor his children have been seen or heard from since August 28. Therefore, police are concerned for their well-being,” the police notice states.
