From a hospital in New York, Altagracia is looking for her children

Altagracia del Villar, a mother who has lived between the silence of an illness and the loneliness of separation, is currently confined to the Elmhurst Hospital Center, facing a delicate state of physical and mental health. Her story, marked by struggle, immigration, and the desire to move forward, today calls for a reunion that will give her back a piece of peace: to see her two children again. Life hasn’t been easy for her. Her mental health problems led to the separation from her children and the loss of custody when they were both under ten years old. Her diagnosis? Schizophrenia, diabetes and high blood pressure. Currently, she is 74 years old. His eldest son was declared as Eliezer Tomás, who is presumed to be a member of the National Police and resides in the Dominican Republic. His youngest son was named Moisés David Martínez, the only thing known about him is that he resides in New York. Both were the result of different parents, grew up away from their mother and may be unaware of the circumstances in which she finds herself. Altagracia migrated to the United States in 1998, leaving her children with the illusion of making them residents and taking them with her. The death of her mother, Estela Piña, in 2001 was the tragic event that triggered her illness, distancing her from reality. In the same year, it was the last time she saw her children. Her family, especially her niece Dolores Aurich, make a heartfelt plea. They want to reunite Altagracia with her children, even if it’s for the last time.
