Amélie Voigt Trejes, a Brazilian from the state of Santa Catarina, has become the world’s youngest billionaire, according to Forbes’ 2026 annual ranking.
Voigt Trejes, who turned 21 on August 1, has an estimated fortune of approximately $1.1 billion, derived from her stake in WEG, the Brazilian electrical and industrial equipment manufacturer co-founded by her grandfather in the 1960s.
She overtook German heir Johannes von Baumbach, who is seven weeks older than her, according to the report.
WEG operates in 41 countries, employs more than 45,000 people worldwide and has factories, distribution centers and commercial operations across five continents.
The company’s succession model has resulted in several members of the Voigt family appearing among Brazil’s youngest billionaires. According to the information provided, five of the six youngest Brazilian billionaires on Forbes’ list belong to the Voigt family, including Amélie’s 23-year-old twin brothers.
