U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance sharply responded to a protester who interrupted his speech at the Republican National Midterm Convention in Dallas on Thursday night while displaying Mexican and Palestinian flags.

The incident occurred during Vance’s speech at the American Airlines Center, on the second and final day of the Republican convention. According to Fox News, the protester appeared among the crowd and began displaying the foreign flags. The interruption was not shown on the convention’s official broadcast.

Vance later referred to the incident while addressing the audience, saying, “What people at home missed is that we just had a protester interrupt us waving the Mexican flag.”

He then addressed the protester directly: “Well, my friend, if you love Mexico so much, go there. I’ll buy you the plane ticket.”

The protester was subsequently removed from the venue, according to the report.
