NEW YORK.– Authorities in the city of New York find a man’s body floating in the Hudson River on Sunday morning, near the Harlem neighborhood.
According to preliminary reports from the New York City Police Department (NYPD), the discovery occurred around 9:30 in the morning, in the area near Dyckman Street and Henry Hudson Parkway, where units from the 34th Precinct, firefighters, and port and marine teams responded to the emergency.
Images taken at the scene show personnel from the medical examiner’s office removing the body, which was placed in a bag for subsequent transfer and analysis.
The victim has not yet been identified
Authorities reported that the victim would be a man of approximately 40 years old, but his identity has not been officially confirmed. The exact cause of death is under investigation and will be determined by the city’s coroner’s office.
This new case adds to a series of similar incidents that occurred earlier this month in the city. On June 6th, three bodies were recovered in a single day from the East River, including that of a 15-year-old teenager, Grace Ilogene, who had disappeared after jumping into the water at Roosevelt Island despite not knowing how to swim.
That same day, a man was found unconscious in the water near the Brooklyn Bridge at 6:00 in the morning and was pronounced dead at the scene. Hours later, another body was seen floating near 34th Street and FDR Drive and taken to Pier 16, where his death was also confirmed.
