The death toll rises to 35 and the injured to 131 in a wave of Israeli attacks against Yemen

Sana.- At least 35 people died and 131 others were injured this Wednesday in a new wave of bombings carried out by Israel against the capital of Yemen, Sana, and the northern province of Al Jawf, reported the Yemeni Ministry of Health controlled by the Houthi rebels. “The total number of victims has risen to 166, including 35 martyrs and 131 injured”, said the Houthi department in a preliminary report, while “civil defense teams, ambulances and rescue continue to search for missing persons and martyrs under the rubble”.

In the statement, it was detailed that the Israeli attacks against Sana’a, the capital of Yemen, took the lives of 28 people and left another 113 injured, while in Al Jawd seven people died and another 18 were injured. According to the Ministry’s spokesman, Anees al Asbahi, these bombings also caused damage to “several homes” in the Al Tahrir neighborhood, in the center of Sana’a; in a “medical post” located in the southwest of the city; as well as in a “government complex” in the town of Al Hazm, the capital of Al Jawf province. “We declare our firm and unequivocal condemnation of the brutal crime committed by the Zionist enemy entity, which launched several air strikes directly against civilian, service, and residential facilities,” denounced Al Asbahi. The military spokesman for the Houthis, Yahya Sarea, previously reported that the bombings carried out this afternoon against different points in the Yemeni capital “were directed exclusively against civilians” and targeted the headquarters of the newspapers ’26 de Septiembre’ and ‘Al Yemen’, affiliated with the insurgents. These attacks “left dead and wounded among journalists and other civilians,” according to the spokesperson. The Israeli army, for its part, said it had bombed “military targets” of the Houthi rebels in Sana’a and Al Jawf as a “response” to the insurgents’ latest attacks against Israel, including the one carried out with a drone that hit the Ramon airport in southern Israel over the weekend. Likewise, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised today that his country will continue to attack Yemen, after claiming a series of bombings against “military camps” and the Military Public Relations Headquarters of the Houthis in Sana’a. This new wave of bombings against Yemen comes a day after Israel attacked the capital of Qatar, Doha, for the first time, in an action directed against leaders of the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas and in which at least six people died: five from the Palestinian movement and a member of the Qatari security forces.
