An out-of-control wildfire has forced the evacuation of eight communities and a farm school in the municipality of Brieva, in Spain’s Segovia province, as firefighters continue battling the blaze.
Spanish authorities declared the fire a Level 2 emergency, indicating that additional resources are required to contain the flames and protect nearby communities.
The wildfire has damaged several homes, while one community remains under confinement due to the advancing fire and heavy smoke.
Videos from the area show thick plumes of smoke rising above the landscape as emergency crews work to contain the wildfire. The cause of the fire has not yet been announced.
