The international Dane underwent medical tests to determine the exact extent of the ailment and, according to the official report, the player will begin conservative treatment, with the aim of avoiding surgery at this stage. Christensen’s absence adds to an already extensive list of absences in the team led by Hansi Flick. Midfielder Pedro González ‘Pedri’ will also not be available for this Sunday’s match against Villarreal at the Estadio de la Cerámica, due to hamstring problems.
