Last Sunday, prior to the game in which the Águilas Cibaeñas shut out the Tigres del Licey 4-0 at the Cibao Stadium, the team’s manager, Luis “Pipe” Urueta, revealed that the effective batter and catcher would be arriving in the country during the current week.
“I don’t know the exact date, but Escarra is scheduled to arrive in the country this week, through the Cibao Airport,” said Urueta.
The manager valued the integration of the player, who with his outstanding performance was a key piece in the trouble-free classification of the 22-time national champions, calling his arrival an important injection for the team.
Likewise, Pipe Urueta showed great satisfaction with the performance of the young material of the Águilas Cibaeñas, assuring that it is a group with enough talent to stand out in this league.
“I think what we have seen in these games is that all the teams have shown their potential, and we have gathered a group of very talented young players who can excel in this league, both for their offense and for their defensive dynamism,” said the manager.
Precisely that Sunday, the novice Adael Amador offered a recital of good defensive plays and was a key factor with his bat in the victory of that day.
Urueta also spoke about the adjustments that the Águilas are making in their starting rotation.
“One of the adjustments we must make is in the starting pitching, from which we expect an improvement in its performance. Obviously, in the first game Spencer did a decent job as a starter, but they are definitely adjustments that we have to continue making,” he pointed out.
