Licey announces the departure of Edgar Varela, Ryan Watson, and Paolo Espino after their contracts conclude

SANTO DOMINGO ..— The Tigres del Licey announced this Sunday that the participation of Edgar Varela, offensive coordinator, as well as that of the imported pitchers Ryan Watson and Paolo Espino, who finished their respective contracts in the 2025-26 autumn-winter baseball season, has concluded.

The blue organization especially thanked Varela’s work, who held the role for four consecutive campaigns since the 2022-23 season. His work was part of the teams that won the 2022-23 and 2023-24 championships, in addition to the team that reached the Final Series last season.
Regarding the pitchers:


Ryan Watson participated in 13 games as a reliever, recording an ERA of 3.97, with 11 strikeouts and six walks in 11.1 innings.


Paolo Espino made three starts, accumulating 8.1 innings of work, in which he allowed 15 hits and seven earned runs, with seven strikeouts and one walk, for an ERA of 7.56.


The vice president of operations and general manager of the Tigres del Licey, Audo Vicente, thanked the dedication and professionalism of the three, wishing them the greatest success in their next steps within professional baseball.
