Barcelona (EFE).— The Euroleague Basketball announced this Tuesday that the matches in Israel will officially resume from December 1, 2025, after the meeting of the member clubs to assess the situation in Gaza and the recent progress of the ceasefire and peace initiatives in the region.

Since October 2023, the Israeli teams participating in the Euroleague and Eurocup had played their home matches in neutral venues for security reasons. Two years later, they will be able to play again in front of their fans in their respective pavilions. In a statement, the organization reported that until the date of resumption “will closely monitor the evolution of events, maintaining constant communication with local and international authorities, visiting teams and the competent entities.” The clubs that own the competition stated that the decision is made with “optimism and hope“, while emphasizing that “the safety and well-being of everyone involved will remain the top priority“. The measure marks an important step towards the normalization of the European competitions calendar in Israeli territory, interrupted by the conflict in Gaza for two years.
