MINERD activates emergency protocols due to rain forecasts from tropical wave

Santo Domingo. – The Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic (MINERD) announced this Tuesday that it maintains its emergency protocols active in the face of the rain forecasts that will affect a large part of the national territory as a consequence of the passage of a tropical wave. The institution explained that all educational centers in the country have the established procedures to act in a timely manner and guarantee the safety and integrity of the educational community, especially students, teachers, and administrative staff. The MINERD highlighted that the regional and district directorates are in permanent communication with civil protection agencies and local authorities, in order to coordinate any preventive measures or immediate response that may be necessary.

Furthermore, the entity reiterated its commitment to safeguard the life and well-being of the school population, while urging the entire educational community to remain attentive to the official information issued by the competent authorities. The Ministry emphasized that it will continue to monitor the evolution of weather conditions and will adopt, in coordination with the corresponding institutions, the provisions that guarantee the safe development of school activities.
