Santo Domingo. – The Centro and Comercio en Marcha league teams won their matches in the last day of the XXXV Rubén Pimentel tournament in the Junior Superior category, organized by the Softball Association of the National District (Asadina).
In the first game of the encounter and with eight hits, where pitching was dominant, the Centro league defeated Villa Juana-B 7-3 and met with Adovenprofar-A for the championship of the South Division and in the second Comercio en Marcha knocked out La Puya and had the pass to face Los Mellos for the championship of the North Division.
In the triumph of the Center, the victory went to Carlos Matos and Alberto Núñez suffered the defeat.
Emilio Sánchez, of 2-2 with one RBI; Frank Antigua of 2-1, one home run, one run scored and one RBI; Steven Ynoa, of 1-1, scored and drove in one; Saúl Hernández of 3-1 with two RBIs and Jorge D’Oleo of 2-1 with one run scored, stood out with the wood for the winners.
The ninth Comercio en Marcha surpassed La Puya, 16-7, with the victory going to Jesús Hernández and the loss to Héctor Ramírez.
Francis Jesús, who hit three hits, two home runs, in five at-bats, scored three and drove in five, was the best hitter for the winners, followed by Daniel Espinal, 3-2, a home run, three runs scored and four RBIs; Diego Román, two hits, scored and drove in one; Aiverson Vargas, two singles with one RBI.
Division Champions
The graduate Apolinar Durán Brito, president of Asadina, announced that the teams that won in the last round will face Adovenprofar-A and Los Mellos, for the championship of the South and North divisions respectively.
Both winners of that match will compete in a 3-2, the great Confraternidad Cup 2025.
