Santo Domingo. – The sound of the rubber ball is back in the streets, Diablitos™ Underwood™ and their 2023 champion team and 2024 runner-up, “
Los Diablos de la Bastidas”, are preparing to seek their second crown in the third Split of the ‘Vacílate Esto’ Rubber Ball Tournament. The event, which has revived a traditional sport from Venezuela, returns with the aim of consolidating its supremacy.
The team, led by social communicator and sports specialist María Alexandra Bastidas, who also serves as the team’s “chiva”, achieved a historic feat by defeating Los Bombillos de Petare 10-0 in the grand final of the first Split. This victory not only earned them the title of champions of the first edition, but also solidified their place in the collective memory of Venezuelan sport.
Los Toros de La Vega were proclaimed champions in the second Split after defeating “Los Diablos de la Bastidas” 7-3, taking away their undefeated streak. The match between both teams was so competitive that at the time it was considered the most epic of the season, with the Toros achieving victory in the last inning.
Tradition, talent, and international recognition
As part of the drive for competition, “El Pare o None” was held with great anticipation. The event, which generated great excitement among the fans, served to introduce the selected players from each team. Many hoped to see their name on the list, and for some, that dream came true.
It is noteworthy that the Pelotica de Goma Tournament received the silver award in the Lions Entertainment for Sport category at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2025, held in France. This recognition was given to its creators, Jhon Da Silva and Juan Carlos Martínez, of La Web Digital Agency, who celebrated the achievement as the first award of its kind for Venezuela.
Between 13/Sep/2025 and 04/Sep/2025, the teams will compete in a new edition that promises even more excitement, tradition, and connection with our roots. The best way to eat ham will be present again in search of a new championship.
