Santo Domingo.– The Dominican Baseball Federation (FEDOM) officially presented the roster of the National Team that will represent the Dominican Republic in the 2026 U15 Baseball World Cup, an event organized by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC).

The world championship will be held from September 25 to October 4 in the Mexican cities of Mérida, Yucatán, and Cancún, Quintana Roo, with the participation of 12 national teams: Japan, Mexico, Cuba, Germany, South Africa, Chinese Taipei, Nicaragua, Australia, Czech Republic, United States, Venezuela, and the Dominican Republic.
The Dominican team was placed in Group A, whose preliminary round matches will be held at the Parque Kukulcán Álamo, in Mérida. The Quisqueyan squad will face Japan, Mexico, Cuba, Germany, and South Africa in this first phase.
Extensive evaluation process
The formation of the national team was the result of an extensive process of practices, evaluations, and warm-up matches that lasted for approximately a month and a half.
Young people from different programs and academies that support the work of FEDOM and contribute to the development of Dominican youth talent participated in the process.
Among the participating academies were MVP-Miguelón, Ozuna Factory, International Prospect League (I.P.L.), Jaime Ramos, Sandy Nin, Otro Nivel, Edwin Encarnación and José Burdiel Academy.
The coaching staff had the opportunity to evaluate the players’ physical, defensive, and offensive conditions, as well as aspects related to pitching, discipline, versatility, and competitive capacity.
A team of 20 players
The Dominican team will be composed of 20 baseball players born between 2011 and 2012, distributed among pitchers, catchers, infielders, and outfielders.
The versatility of several of those selected will allow the coaching staff to have different strategic alternatives during the tournament.

A showcase for Dominican talent
Participation in the U15 World Cup represents an important platform for the development and international projection of young Dominican baseball players.
During the competition, the players will have the opportunity to compete against national teams from 11 countries from different continents, which qualified for the top world tournament in the category.

For FEDOM, the championship also constitutes an opportunity to continue strengthening the training and development processes of youth baseball, while allowing the talent emerging from the different programs and academies of the Dominican Republic to be showcased on the international stage.
With a preparation that included weeks of training, evaluations, and exhibition games, the Dominican national team will travel to Mexico with the goal of competing at the highest level and representing the colors of the Dominican Republic with pride.
