SANTIAGO.- The leading clubs of the Dominican Football League (LDF 2025-2026), Cibao FC and Salcedo FC, will face each other on Saturday in matchday 8 of the event, specially dedicated to the memory of José Rafael Abinader.

The two northern teams will face each other at the Cibao FC stadium, at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra, starting at 8:00 PM. For the first date of matchday 8 of the LDF, three matches are scheduled, involving the teams at the top of the standings. Cibao FC and Salcedo each have 15 accumulated points; it is the highest score of the tournament, a sum that Club Atlético Pantoja also exhibits. Also in double digits are Universidad O&M with 12 and Moca FC with 10. The 15 points of the orange eleven are the product of five wins and two losses in the first seven matches. Salcedo FC, debuting in the LDF, is undefeated, with 4 wins and 3 draws, for 15 units. The defending champions have 13 goals for and 6 against, for a positive balance of +7. The people from Salcedo have scored a whopping 18 goals and their goalkeepers have conceded 9, for a positive of +9. Also in the individual scorers, Salcedo FC and Cibao FC have the top scorers, with Daniel Jamesley, from Hermanas Mirabal province, who has 7, and Ángel Pérez, from Los 31, who has 6. The other goals for Cibao FC were scored by Edwarlyn Reyes with 2, while Julio César Murillo, Carlos “Caballo” Ventura, Wilman Modesta, and Jean Carlos López each have one. After Jamesley, with 7 goals, Gastón Comas and Starlin Alba have 2; and with one, Kerven Dessin, Brayan Bermúdez, Alejandro Carrera and Carlos Rossell. MATCHDAY 8Matchday 8 games will begin on Saturday at 4:00 PM, when Atlántico FC hosts Universidad O&M at the Leonel Plácido stadium.
Moca FC will host Club Atlético Pantoja at the Moca 85 stadium, and Cibao FC will host Salcedo FC.
The matchday closes on Sunday, at 4:00 PM, when Delfines del Este and Atlético Vega Real clash at the Parque del Este stadium.
The last one will be on Sunday at 6:00 PM at the Parque Panamericano, with Atlético San Cristóbal as the home team against Jarabacoa FC.
