Spain begins preparations for friendlies against Serbia and Egypt with several absences

LAS ROZAS, MADRID. – The Spanish national football team held its first training session on Tuesday to prepare for the friendly matches against Serbia and Egypt, in a session held at the Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas under the orders of coach Luis de la Fuente.

The practice took place without the participation in the group of Lamine Yamal, Marcos Llorente and Aymeric Laporte, who did physical work separately due to accumulated wear and tear and slight physical discomfort, according to the coaching staff. Among the new features of the training were Joan García, Víctor Muñoz, Cristhian Mosquera and Ander Barrenetxea, who joined the group and experienced their first session with the senior team, in the last call-up before the 2026 World Cup. The rest of the squad completed the session in a relaxed atmosphere after several months without coinciding in a concentration. After physical exercises and work with the ball, the team continued with tactical aspects in a closed-door practice. Spain plans to face Serbia on Friday, March 27th and Egypt on Tuesday, March 31st, friendly matches that are part of their international preparation. The Spanish team will hold several training sessions in Las Rozas until Thursday, when they will travel to Castellón to continue with their planning.
