deadline to define the 53-player rosters left surprises and important moves in the NFL. Among the most striking cuts are wide receiver
Marquez Valdes-Scantling, running back
Deuce Vaughn, and center
Cole Strange, who were left out of the 2025 season.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, two-time champion of
Super Bowls LVII and LVIII with the Chiefs, was released by the
Seattle Seahawks after losing the internal competition for the receiver position to rookie
Tory Horton. The move is surprising, as Valdes-Scantling had signed a contract for
4 million dollars during the last free agency.
Running back
Deuce Vaughn, who shined as a rookie with the
Dallas Cowboys in 2023, was also cut by the Texan franchise. However, the player could remain in the organization if he is signed to the
practice squad, something that the coaching staff does not rule out.
Patriots Cut Cole Strange
The
New England Patriots made a significant decision by
releasing Cole Strange, starting center in
29 games over three seasons. The franchise will bet on
Garrett Bradbury as the main center and will count on
Caedan Wallace and
Mike Onwenu to reinforce the offensive line.
