Washington. – Legendary boxers Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao will face each other again on September 19 in Las Vegas, United States, eleven years after starring in one of the most media-covered fights in the history of professional boxing.

The fight will be held at The Sphere, a state-of-the-art venue that will host an event that is already generating great anticipation among fans and specialists.
In 2015, Mayweather won by unanimous decision after twelve rounds at the MGM Grand, in an event known as “the fight of the century”, which broke audience and pay-per-view billing records, with revenues that amounted to hundreds of millions of dollars.
After that fight, Pacquiao explained that he fought with a shoulder injury, an injury that —according to his statement— influenced his performance in the ring.
The rematch will be broadcast live on Netflix, a platform that officially confirmed the event and highlighted that “unfinished business and a great rivalry between two of the best boxers of all time” persist.
Mayweather, nicknamed “Money,” turned 49 and recently announced his return to professional boxing, after participating in exhibition fights away from the competitive circuit. The American maintains an undefeated record of 50 victories, 27 of them by knockout.
“I already fought and beat Manny once. This time the result will be the same,” Mayweather said in statements released by the platform.
Pacquiao, 47 years old and the only world champion in eight divisions, takes on the fight as an opportunity for sporting vindication and to definitively close a rivalry that marked an era.
“Eleven years have passed since Floyd and I gave the world the biggest fight in boxing history. The fans have waited long enough. They deserve this rematch,” expressed the Filipino.
The confrontation revives one of the most emblematic rivalries in the sport and will once again pit two figures who defined boxing of their generation against each other, now in the final stage of their respective careers.
