Ronaldinho returns to professional football with Italian club Ravenna

Ronaldinho Gaúcho has returned to professional football at the age of 46, joining Ravenna, a club competing in Italy’s Serie C. During his official presentation, the Brazilian said he wants to inspire his teammates, help the team win and contribute to a “spectacular” season.

The 2005 Ballon d’Or winner and 2002 World Cup champion arrived in Emilia-Romagna on Thursday for the club’s presentation events. Ronaldinho announced his return to professional football in June, saying his decision was motivated in part by the happiness he has always found in the game.

His signing is primarily part of Ravenna’s commercial strategy, although the club expects him to play at least one official match during the season. Ravenna has not yet announced when Ronaldinho will make his debut.
