Santo Domingo.- Infielder Vladimir Guerrero Jr. confirmed his participation in the upcoming World Baseball Classic to be held from March 5 to 17, 2026 in Miami and whose manager will be Albert Pujols.
Guerrero, who was born in Canada, does not rule out representing his country of birth and with whom he plays most of the games with the Blue Jays, as he reported in an interview with The Score, where he revealed the reasons why he chose to play with the Dominican team.

“Nací en Canadá, pero crecí en la República Dominicana. Mi papá nunca fue a un Clásico Mundial de Béisbol. De niño me decía que debía representar a la República Dominicana si alguna vez tenía la oportunidad y crecí con esa idea. Así que creo que jugaré con la República Dominicana, pero quizás, si no me retiro, algún día juegue con Canadá”,
contestó Guerrero Jr.
The starting pitcher was registered in the Dominican team that played in the 2023 edition, but suffered discomfort in his right knee less than a week before the start of the event.
