Santo Domingo.- The iconic Broadway production Chicago: The Musical will arrive at the Main Hall of the Eduardo Brito National Theater starting September 12, 2026, under the general and artistic production of José Llano and the general direction of María Castillo.
Set in the 1920s, in the height of the jazz and charleston era, the play tells the story of Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly, two women accused of murder who, with the help of the influential lawyer Billy Flynn, turn their court cases into a media spectacle in search of fame and recognition.
The lead roles will be played by Karla Fatule, who will interpret Roxie Hart; Robmariel Olea, as Velma Kelly; and Javier Grullón, in the role of the lawyer Billy Flynn. The cast also includes Luis José Germán as Amos Hart, Laura Cadete as Mama Morton, Guille Martín as Fred Casely, and Héctor Aníbal as the Announcer.
José Llano highlighted that this new endeavor reaffirms the commitment to raising the level of musical theater in the country. “Chicago represents that commitment to excellence and brings together the talent of Dominican artists, musicians, technicians, and creatives who have worked for months to present a world-class show,” he expressed.

The musical direction will be in charge of Junior Lomba and will include some of the most recognized numbers from the musical, including All That Jazz, Cell Block Tango, and Razzle Dazzle, pieces that have made Chicago one of the most successful and iconic shows of the genre internationally.
