Puerto Rico. – Dominican Andrés Peralta, a member of the renowned team Los Navales, won first place in the 12th edition of the Vaqueros de Bayamón Domino Cup, which was recently held at the
Jardines de Caparra Cultural Center, on Puerto Rican soil.
Peralta achieved a perfect record of hands won without suffering defeats (7-0) in the individual modality of the international domino tournament.
In the event, organized by the Department of Education, Recreation and Sports of Bayamón, in Puerto Rico, approximately 400 athletes from different locations on the Island of Enchantment and other Caribbean countries participated, consolidating itself as one of the most prestigious competitions on the regional calendar.

During the awards ceremony, Peralta thanked the event organizers and dedicated his victory to his teammates “Los Amigos de Martín,” with whom he shared the competitive day.
“Thank you for the support, the organization was impeccable, and the atmosphere of brotherhood that characterizes this Cup. This triumph is for all those who believe in fair play and competitive excellence,” expressed champion Peralta.
In addition to public recognition, the Dominican received a commemorative trophy that credits him as the absolute winner of the XII Copa Vaqueros, along with a cash prize as part of the $10,000 dollars that were distributed in the competition.
Andrés Peralta’s performance, representing Los Navales and sharing the sporting spirit of Los Amigos de Martín, reaffirms the high level of Dominican dominoes in international tournaments, raising the flag of the Dominican Republic in Puerto Rican lands.
Peralta finished in first place with his undefeated record of 7-0 and a total of 1,460 points, followed by Elvin Gómez (6-1) and 1,320 points, Justo Vásquez (6-1) and 1,435 points, Manuel Reyes (6-1) and 1,348 points, and Irvin Prado (6-1) and 1,355 points, who placed from second to fifth place, respectively.
It is worth noting that Peralta finished ahead of internationally renowned players such as multiple world champion Joaquín Martínez and Eladio Cruz, who had records of 5-2 each.
