Among the names that have integrated the fleet are emblematic areas such as Pico Duarte, Los Tres Ojos, Bahía de las Águilas and Isla Saona, among others. Santo Domingo.- Arajet celebrated today the arrival in the Dominican Republic of its 14th aircraft, a modern Boeing 737 MAX 8 christened as “Salto de Jimenoa” in honor of one of the main natural attractions of Jarabacoa, La Vega province. They indicated that the aircraft landed at Las Américas International Airport and is part of Arajet’s institutional strategy to identify each aircraft with a protected area or ecological reserve in the country, a practice that seeks to raise the visibility of Dominican natural heritage and promote the conservation of these ecosystems in international markets. The airline highlighted that “Salto de Jimenoa” represents an icon of Dominican ecotourism: an impressive waterfall in the Jimenoa I and II rivers, located in the heart of Jarabacoa, known for its lush vegetation, mountain trails, and opportunities for nature and adventure tourism. The site is one of the main destinations for national and international visitors exploring the eco-tourism offerings of the Dominican Republic.

Víctor Pacheco Méndez, CEO & founder of Arajet, highlighted that this new aircraft not only expands the company’s operational capacity, but also reinforces the airline’s commitment to a sustainable business model that boosts the local economy and air connectivity.

“Every plane that bears the name of a protected area is an ambassador for our biodiversity and promotes the responsible tourism that we so badly need for sustainable development,” Pacheco said.

Arajet has been consolidating as one of the engines of the Dominican economy, not only due to the expansion of its route network, which in 2025 led it to become one of the main airlines in the arrival of tourists to the country, but also due to its environmental management and social responsibility practices. The initiatives include reforestation days in protected areas, support for conservation and environmental education programs, and the active promotion of ecotourism destinations through its symbolic aircraft appointments. With a modern and efficient fleet that reduces polluting emissions and operating costs, Arajet contributes to the strengthening of the Dominican tourism ecosystem by generating jobs, boosting connectivity and favoring infrastructure investments while promoting a more sustainable and environmentally friendly economy.
